Victory Conditions & Leaderboard
Determining Winners
Same rule for all modes - highest GP wins:
- Match Mode: Player with highest GP when game ends
- Arena Mode: Player with highest GP during duration
- Not about survival: Last player alive doesn't win unless they have highest GP
- Ties possible: Multiple winners share rank 1
How it works: GP is the only victory metric. A player eliminated early with 500 GP beats a survivor with 400 GP. This prevents passive play - you can't win by avoiding predictions. Must actively earn points to win.
Strategic impact: Aggressive early play can secure victory even if eliminated. Surviving with low score means nothing. Forces engagement with prediction system. No incentive to hide and wait.
Arena Leaderboard Mechanics
Rolling competition structure:
- Entry-based ranking: Each entry tracked separately
- Live updates: Position changes as new scores post
- Multiple attempts: Re-enter to improve position

How it works: Your best score stays on leaderboard even after elimination. New entries can surpass you anytime during Arena duration. Multiple entries from same player allowed (separate rankings). Final positions locked when Arena timer expires.

Finish Position vs Winner Status
Two separate rankings:
- Winner: Highest GP scorer(s) only
- Finish Position: Order of elimination (for stats)
- Example: 3rd eliminated with 1000 GP = Winner, 12th place finish
- Career tracking: Both metrics recorded separately
How it works: Finish position tracks when you were eliminated (12th, 11th, 10th, etc). Winner status only checks final GP total. Player eliminated first could still win if they earned most GP before elimination.
Strategic impact: Early aggressive play viable if you build big lead. Survival only matters for finish position stats. Better to risk elimination while building score than survive with low GP.
Post-Elimination Features
What happens after you're out:
- Spectator mode: Watch remaining players
- Live leaderboard: Track your position
- Exit options: Leave anytime (rank preserved)
- Stats recording: Immediate career update
How it works: Elimination transitions you to spectator view. Can see all players, heat maps, and live prices. Your score is final but rank may change as others finish. All stats immediately saved to blockchain record.
Strategic impact: Study winner strategies while spectating. Learn from mistakes immediately. No penalty for leaving after elimination. Use spectator time to plan next game approach.
Exit Reasons & Rewards
Four ways games end for players:
- COMPLETED: Survived to time limit (keeps all GP, eligible to win)
- ELIMINATED: Lost all lives (keeps all GP, still eligible to win)
- ABANDONED: Voluntary exit (forfeits all rewards)
- DISCONNECTED: Lost connection (rewards preserved if reconnect)
How it works: Exit reason affects rewards but not win eligibility. COMPLETED and ELIMINATED players both keep earned GP and can win if highest. ABANDONED forfeits everything. DISCONNECTED can recover if returning quickly.
Strategic impact: Never abandon - better to get eliminated with high score. Eliminated players often win through early aggressive play. Disconnection protection prevents technical losses. Exit reason permanently recorded in career stats.
Remember: Victory isn't always about first place. Top 20% in Arena earns profits. Consistent top-half finishes build GP faster than occasional wins with frequent last-place finishes.
